Week 39/08

She shines like no other billboard star. She embraces her own style and dares to do fashion flops to succeed in looking stunning. The multi-talented actress, singer and songwriter Alicia Keys is our Haku hero this week. She started to write songs already when she was a little girl growing up in Harlem New York, now she is a super star and one of historys biggest RnB queens. We have seen a lot of different outfits in the past where Alicia has got it all wrong but we think she has found her true style throughout the years. Something all her outfits got in common is that they are daring and new. They are sexy yet classy and she never goes after the safe outfits like something everyone else would be wearing at the moment. She does her own thing. Every single time. Sometimes the result is just amazing.

Like the true Haku Hero she is, she's an inspiration to others. With a booty licious body when all the other famous girls around her tries to slim down to deadly size zeros. She stays the way she's always been. Good looking with a body she's comfortable in and HEALTHY. She is also one of the most talented singer/songwriters out there. Some of her songs have already become RnB classics and she is still in her 20's! We look forward to see what she has in store for us in the future and hope she continues to inspire all of us.

Killer shoes!!

Going-out-shoes. Shoes that make you feel good about yourself. Shoes that make you feel sexy. Comforting shoes when you feel down. Hard to walk in maybe. But oh so wonderful. We call them killer shoes. You know those kind of shoes you will fall in love with becasuse they look so leathaly good on you and you immediatly picture yourself strolling down the street with a outfit that fits the shoes looking oh so Carry Bradshaw-ish and fabolous.

Week 38/08

This weeks Haku Hero is so cool she hardly needs an introduction. Rebecka Qvarnström's outfits are so well put together anyone would be jaloux. Her rock chick style makes her a super trendy it girl. She's always dressed trendy but translates the different trends in her own personal way. Rebecka is an inspiration because she is always in a positive mood spreading her glooming energy to everyone around her. She also dares to dress different and expressing herself through fashion.

Fall must-haves

It's a new season and time to feed your wardrobe monster with some goddies from the stores new collections. If you feel confused at times, and maybe even a bit lost in the shopping jungle of new trends HH will of course be here to your rescue.

ETNIC DRESS

If you don't want to take the etnic trend too far this casual cotton dress from swedish Monki will be a suggestion worth going for. Feel free to wear a lot of prints this fall. Especially in these kind of colours and for almost the first time it is really cool to mix different types of prints!

EASY TO WALK IN HIGH HEEL SHOES

Comfortable and stable to walk in but oh so cute! Will turn your feet into small cute doll like ones regardless what size you are wearing. Also from Monki.

FANCY HAT

Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan have all been fans of the dressed up fancy mens like hat for a while but now it's our turn to rejoice it. Wear it big and proud with a feminine cute outfit to get that perfect celeb style.

COSY KNITWEAR

Knitwear have never been bigger. We want to cuddle up in an oversized soft knitted cardigan and refuse to be cold even though we are supposed to freeze our asses off pretty soon. This beige one is from Bikbok.

BIG CHECKED SHIRT

In the style of Kurt Cobain if you like. You can find them everywhere and they are just lovely. Go after a flanell one in the true 90's spirit and mix it up grunge style. This one is from Bikbok aswell.

BLACK LACE

It's in every fashion mag right now. But think of it: either you have to really know how to mix it not to look lite a stripper or this trend will be over before it started. Don't get us wrong, we like lace but we just don't think it's for everyone.

EXTRAVAGANT SHOULDER SHAPES

We don't believe that this will be seen too much outside the runways. It is ugly and unflattering and avoid it if you can.

Week 37/08

This weeks Haku Hero is an angel. Aaliyah was one of those human beings who everyone admired. She was beautiful, an extremly talented singer and actress and always smiling. That beaming smile who seems to stop the world from turning in one split second. She was on top of the world with a successful album and upcoming movies when suddenly everything ended and she was dramaticly taken away from us.

Even though 7 years have gone by since the rnb queen passed away she is still a role model and fashion hero. She was always way ahead of everyone else with her music and style. Some of the pictures taken of her seems timeless and like they could have been taken of a upcoming star of today.



HH's favourite picture of her. Those slim leather pants leggings are something we see on a lot of fashionistas today. The glimmering gold top and the overall styling is perfect.

A shot from the music video for the single "We need a resolution" with Timbaland. Noone was wearing the sexy goth look back then but now in 2008 it's in every fashion magazine we know.

We know Aaliyah will continue to inspire us and others and we hope she rests in peace. We love her forever.

NY Fashion week 08

HH would probably chop of a left arm or at least a pinky toe to get an invite to front row at some major fashion shows on the greatest fashion mayhem of all - the NY fashion week. But just because you can't be there does not mean you can't be inspired. There are ways to get to see what hot and what we all will or at least want to be wearing spring/summer 2009.

Week 36/08

He doesn't care what other people think of him. He lives his life in privacy with his family by his side. Escaping the Hollywood L.A-scene for La France. He is probably the greatest and most talanted actor we know. This weeks Haku Hero is no other than Johnny Depp. 

To be able to completly go your own way, wearing just whatever you feel like wearing while ignoring the stares, the wispears and people talking behind your back is not an easy thing to do. First of all it takes a strong person with a lot of self confidence to pull that off, especially being in such a superficial industry as the big screen american film industry. People keep talking but Depp has stopped listening a long time ago. In fact we don't believe he has ever listened to other peoples negative remarks or suggestions. If he would have, he would probably not be where he is today -  being admired and reffered to as one of the best actors of today.

We love the work he has accomplished. We never miss a  Johnny Depp movie and always get impressed by his raw talent and ambition to become the charachter he is playing. 

When it comes to fashion he totally goes his own way, oblivious to trends and what everyone else is wearing. In fact he can wear whatever he feels like and still be the best dressed guy on huge event with actors who have spent thousands of dollars on expensive tailor suits and stylists. Depp is humble and always thankful and kind to his fans. He is a true Haku Hero and we hope he continues to make people stop and stare while making movies or just being himself.

Dior ready to wear fall/08/09

John Galliano has designed yet another collection for Dior this season, and it happens to be HH's absolute favourite. It has the 60's style we love. Lots of prints, colours, big hair and thick eye liner with huge fake eyelashes. Why can't we wake up and look like this every morning? The world would be a much better (and beautiful) place.
