Week 35/08

There are cool girls. There are funky girls. There are gorgeous ones. There are girls with style. And then there is Josefin Freij. She is certainly in a category of her own - she is all of those in one and this weeks Haku Hero. She plays with colours and prints when she gets dressed for the day, and is one of those who doesn't have to put an effort into choosing outfits because the freshness about her comes naturally. Inspired by all kinds of music in particular the hiphop scene, but still always putting a big dose of herself in every outfit makes her always stand out in a crowd. She can be spotted in branded surf clothes, nice baggy pants as well as feminine dresses and skirts. Why choose when you can do both worlds?

We love Josefin, and we know for a fact that she loves us :)

Get inspired by Josie:

A simple but very hot outfit. Cool tank top, leggings and of cours... leopard converse sneakers!

Josie loves big earrings, prints and baggy shorts.

Before going to out. The leopard high waist skirt is vintage. We would probably cry a tear of joy if it we found that one.

Looking oh so fresh in a summer dress and black cardigan.

Stay cool,

Hottest London blokes

We have shown how japanese fashionistas are dressing before but now it is London blokes time to shine.

Grey is becoming the new black. This guy has mixed different shades of light grey perfectly well. The trench couldn't be more right. Remember: a well fitted trenchcoat in a basic colour never goes out of style.

A fun outfit. We hope you haven't already forgotten: FASHION = FUN.

Wawawewwea!!! What a hot leather jacket! And that pinkish washed out colour on his t-shirt is right on target.

There is nothing cuter than adidas jackets on boys. HH LOVE THEM. And this boy is funky, groovy, sporty and cool - all at once. Impressive!

Anything but boring

Sometimes we feel like people forget: fashion is supposed to be fun. Clothes are supposed to make us feel good about ourselves. Why do some people take fashion so freakin seriously? Why not have fun with it instead? Wear something crazy. Something really outrageous that will make heads turn for sure. As long as you love it and own it we are certain you will look good. At least you won't be boring. We would feel awfully offended if someone reffered to us as dressed boring. "Ah I know who you mean, that girl who always dresses really boring?" Oh we would probably die. Drop dead instantly in that very second. Anything but boring, people!

Some fashion inspiration from the least boring country in the world - Japan. Thank God for www.japanesestreets.com.

Gorgeous girl with freaky permenented hairdo and LOVELY boots.

So girly and cute! The strawberry handbag is definatly something we would love to have in our collection of childish bags. We already own a dog(gy) bag, mickey mouse bags and lots of hello kitty bags. (And proud of it).

Very simple outfit for being japanese but sooooo hot for us europeans. Why do we not own a jeans vest yet? It looks so cute yet edgy.

No limits on the lolita/bow theme. We LOVE the bag and her tremendous bow.

Stay cool... or break the rules!

Week 34/08

He has style. He has grace. He is someone all the guys want to be and all the girls want to be with. This weeks Haku Hero is no other than Pharell Williams. He grew up playing drums in the school orchestra being the typical nerd with no clue that he later on would become the most famous N.E.R.D in the whole world and make it bigger than biggest. He was not voted the "Best dressed man in the world" (by Esquire magazine in 2005) for nothing. Pharell certainly knows how to dress. He goes from uptown stylish sleekness to homeboy bling bling cutie in a blink of an eye. We are not only impressed by the way he dresses but also by everything he has accomplished as a proffessional musician, singer, songwriter and producer. HH love him. A lot. It is even rumoured he may be involved producing on the next Strokes album. We are so looking forward to that... We are sure there is nothing in the world this multi-talented man can't do. He has even designed handbags, jewellry and eyewear!

Pharells designed eyewear.

Pharell in some of his finest versions of himself:

Colours look good on almost every guy on earth. So how come there are so few of you guys who go for it? It is all about daring and taking risks. Like Pharell does with this multi coloured cardigan.

It can be very ugly and not fashionable at all to flash that you wear labels. But somehow Pharell seems to get away with it with this Louis Vuitton scarf. It is either because he wears an amazing cardigan with it or because he is a true Haku Hero inside and everyone knows Haku Heroes can get away with almost everything when it comes to fashion.

A white outfit with red details looks fantastic on Pharell. He always wear clothing that fits him very well. A slim V-neck is perfectly slim on him and he wears baggy jeans that are just enough baggy and always well fitted.

Watch and learn. This is a perfect alternative for you boys who want to dress colourful but still want to keep it low-key. All eyes on Pharell.

This was how Pharell showed up to the MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen 2006. HH were there and he made an impression on us we will never forget. He walked in with as much self confidence as if he owned the world in a ice cream jacket and the largest fur hat we ever seen. We laughed and fell in love at the same time... Fashion that makes you happy is what HH are all about.

Keep doing your thing Pharell and we'll keep on routing for you!

Our sequin favourites

Sequins are hotter than ever this fall. It is all about standing out from the crowd this season and it fits HH perfectly well! We think more people should love to be noticed. Go flash your glittery outfits and freaky clothing girls and don't be ashamed for stopping traffic!

These are our favourite sequin styles:

We spotted this girl at www.elle.com and we think she looks great. She manages to dress down the sequins with flat shoes, hair band and cotton shorts. Very well done!
We found this amazing skirt at www.asos.com.

Oh my this dress is wonderful. It is actually from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsens fashion label Elizabeth and James. As always, the Olsen twins are way ahead when it comes to fashion so this is actually from last seasons collection. Bummer! Let's go e-bay it :)

Love,

Week 33/08

She has come a long way since her teen years as an upcoming swedish model. This weeks Haku Heroe is supermodel Emma Wiklund.
You may recognize her from various fashion ads, or from a George Michael video or from the movie Taxi. She has been around over the years picking up fashion know-how all over the world. We think that her sense of style has an aura of freshness around it. She has lived the both glamourous and stressful life of a supermodel at the top of the ranks, but seems to all along have kept her feet firmly on the ground.

Now as a proud strong woman in her fourties she is living the familylife and still managing to continue her work as an active model with work for major clothinglabels. She is now raising her voice for affordable pieces for the working woman of today and has also committed greatly in the struggle to support breast cancer research over the years.

We are proud to present her as a casual queen and a true Haku Heroe!

A pair of jeans and a comfortable grey sweater....

The sexy red dress!

This is a perfect combination of casual and dressy. Emma knows how to do both at the same time. We love the skirt!

We'll keep on routing for her!

Til next time See you guys!

Denim lovers

There is nothing like a pair of awesome jeans.
HH are big denim lovers because it is comfortable, it is in the rare clothing category: looks better if you don't wash (HH don't love washing) and of course it looks cool.

These are the hottest denim trends according to HH:

Acid washed jeans are so hot right now that you have to go out and buy a pair tomorrow if you don't have one already in your wardrobe. They are perfect if you are going after the 80's look but if you want to tone them down you can do so with a white tank top, a black blazer and a cool necklace. (From Bikbok)

If the weather is fine these teared denim shorts are super cute. If you don't already own a pair - don't bother buying any expensive ones. Buy a loose fitting second hand pair of jeans and cut them in the right length. Look for jeans that are already worn out, the more holes the better!

If you want to go skinny HH suggest to go for a super skinny model with a light grey wash.

The 70's flared denim style could never be more in fashion. A little bit high waisted and a dark wash is perfect for this autumn.(From My Lovely Jean)

Jessica Simpson likes worn out jeans just as much as we do. This pair is to die for! Makes her outfit really relaxed and casual looking.

Go out and wear out those jeans :D

Autumn jackets

We can't deny it any longer... autumn is soon here, and we have to dress a bit warmer. HH like summer the most because we don't have to hide our fabolous outfits under layers of clothing and boring jackets. But after a little bit of research we found that there is a way to look cute while keeping warm underneath a hot jacket instead.

Here are some jackets that we like this autumn:

The late 60's early 70's vintage look in jackets are probably the hottest style this autumn. We love the styling to these two with either a colourful 70's print dress and white accessories or with animal print shoes and purse. WE LOVE IT!

This jacket's shape is a bit interesting with the wide neck and arms.It is more like a sweater really. We could see ourselves in this one soon. (From Miss Sixty)

If you were into the bohemian chic style this summer you are so gonna love the autumn version of it. Mix this cool jacket style with some cute knitwear and go for the 70's hippie theme. Guaranteed to be a winner this autumn.

We are so loving this oversized jacket. It actually makes the outfit instead of ruining it. (From Bikbok)

Purple is totally this autumns main colour. Why not take it to the next level and choose a jacket in a vibrant purple colour? Wear an outfit with all items in the same purple colour and you will be fashion forward for sure. Trust us, everyone will do the same next autumn.(from Mango)

Yours truly,

HH

dressed and pressed

The ancient romans would be proud...to see some of the dresses HH have fallen for. Sure, we are all sick and tired of Rami in this seasons Project Runway, and his never-ending draping...BUT he has a point. It's not only roman style sandals that feel very right. Some summer dresses may surprise you. The roman style can have a number of appearances and here are some of the ones we at HH think are very cute.

Don't be afraid to add colour to your life. This is a great looking blue dress just right for a day at the beach.

GH Fredriksson designed this green "fairlylike" dress and we want it!!

Guess who surprised us here? This is a piece from none other than P-diddys spring collection for the year. The colour and the pattern makes us wild and crazy and if we had to choose between bad boy for life or this dress we spot the talent immediatly. We likey!!!
Wear your roman sandals to this with pride and remember...they go just as well with your jeans baby!

Stay fresh

Week 32/08

This weeks Haku hero is a golden gal who always lights up the big screen when she is in a Hollywood romantic comedy. Kate Hudson may not be the most talented actress we know but she has found out what she is good at and she is sticking with it. That is smart thinking to us and we always enjoy watching her movies. She has always been a favorite because she is almost as funny as her mother and just as gorgeous. She dresses very sexy and classy on the red carpet and bohemian comfortable on a day off. The fact that she is an independent woman, who has been through a divorce and still holds her head high raising her kids and looks like a million bucks doing it, makes her a role model and a true Haku hero.

Get inspired by Kate:

Kate doing the victory sign or the asian pose (our favorite) on the red carpet in a stunning gold dress.

Going shopping in a simple but oh so cute outfit. Kate knows how to accessorize. Those boots are hot!

Laid back with a black pencil skirt and a white shirt. She is all about keeping it simple but chic.

This is our absolute favorite Kate Hudson outfit/dress. That dress makes her look like a goddess. The deep v-neck cut is like made for her figure and she is fully aware of that and rocks this dark silver sequin dress on the "You, me and Dupree" premiere.

Rock on Kate! Love,

HH

Leopard prints winners and losers

Either you love them or you hate them. HH kind of love leopard prints. But you have to be careful and use them wisely not to make a big fashion flop. If you accessorize the prints in a cute way it can be absolutely fabulous! And there are some leopard print dresses that are to die for. Others, could easily make us barf. It is all about class and to look chic...

Let's have a look on some leopard prints winners:

Jessica Alba in an expensive looking leopard dress. It is classy and sexy at the same time and it is very suitable for her.

Leopard sandals or pumps are almost always a winner if you combine it with a sassy outfit WITHOUT any other animal prints. That is a important thing to remember about leopard print. Do not EVER mix it with more leopard prints. It is always bad. Really bad.

Sarah Jessica Parker is the biggest winner when it comes to animal prints because she uses it very tastefully. Here with a huge scarf, a black sleek outfit and then adding the turquoise peep toe sandals which makes the outfit fresh and fun.

SJP is the master of mixing and matching. Her leopard clutch is to die for together with this cute outfit. She looks incredibly amazing.

But what about the leopard prints losers?

We are not sure if this is a leopard cat-suit or matching leggings and top Jordan Price is wearing. We actually don't really care either. Both are losers in our book.

What was she thinking? Or is she trying to make a statement? We feel offended anyways.

This is a tricky one. Leopard slim pants. It could be a winner, but in most cases it's a loser. In this case Misha Barton tries to go after a style that is not her. She looks so much better in the hippie chic style and this just looks wrong and fits her pretty badly.

Eva Mendes smile is beaming in this picture and she is probably the only one in the whole world that could have pulled this one off. But unfortunately she doesn't. A leopard print dress is supposed to be classy and sexy. Not unflattering like this one.

Japanese street fashion

HH love Japan. When it comes to fashion there is no right or wrong on the streets of Tokyo. The fashion scene in Japan can not be compared to anything else. It is really something unique and we can't wait to travel to Japan and take one million pictures, shop until we actually get tired of it and just watch people walking down the pavements like it was the runway of our wildest dreams. We daydream about Japan all the time and the best place to get inspired online is:www.japanesestreets.com where you easily can spend hours daydreaming and hoping you'll soon be mingling with the japanese fashion elite. While looking through the street fashion pics HH sometimes feel like predicting future european fashion trends. Hopefully the japanese fashion sense is contagious...

This guy is the coolest ever. His outfit is so well put together it's unbelievable. We hope to see a few of those in Europe this autumn.

Wow. HH want those sunnies. And that dress. We would probably skip the fur though.

Casual wear japanese style. That hair-do is a winner.

HH think socks in pumps are so hot. Makes the style a bit more dressed down and perfect for work or school. We will wear it until you do.

It is just something about this outfit that makes it fantastic. We think it is the combination of the hairstyle, the hot-dog t-shirt and awesome jewelry or just the way her hair blends into the outfit. Hard to describe but amazingly cool.

The japanese rock chick style. Of course hotter than our european version. Let's hope this version is coming up next year.

Sayonara!
